Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a leading Housing Company in the South East London area who are looking for a brand new Damp and Mould Manager to join their team.

Duties:

  • Be the strategic lead for the management of all damp and mould cases, applying a customer focused service and ensuring all cases are structurally managed to completion.
  • Develop and guide the new team to ensure a high standard delivery of core services.
  • Manage two damp and mould surveyors, two administrators and have oversight of the specialist in house D&M operatives.
  • Embrace a zero tolerance to D&M and ensure that the outputs align with legislative standards.
  • Be aware of new guidance and or legislation and adapting processes to ensure we meet the statutory obligations and ensure customers feel safe in their homes.
  • Identify trends in D&M occurrences and focus on permanent solutions prevent re-occurrence.
  • Work closely with Housing Team to ensure that issues are managed collectively in resolving and dealing with customer issues.
  • Responsible to the Head of Property for the achievement of key performance targets, the provision of monitoring reports and action plans in line with objectives.
  • Take a lead role in setting and monitoring/control of maintenance budgets and contribute to Value for Money efficiencies.
  • Procure partnering contractors for the delivery of complex D&M remedial works.
  • Manage contractor performance in line with KPI requirement and SLA with service departments where appropriate.

Key Knowledge:

  • At minimum 5 years' experience in property maintenance
  • Experience of successfully managing a technical team
  • A thorough understanding of the causation of damps & mould and both traditional and innovative remediation solutions
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering and embedding new projects
  • Demonstratable experience of root cause analysis and diagnosing complex building defects
  • An understanding of building pathology and design
  • Demonstratable experience of procuring contracts and knowledge of applicable routes to procurement
  • An ability to review current working practices identifying efficiencies and implementing new processes
  • Experience of managing performance of contractors using contract management frameworks
  • Demobilisation and mobilisation of contracts
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Awareness of HHSRS applications and surveys
