Senior Planner
As a Senior Planner at BW your role will involve providing invaluable planning expertise on a variety of projects at tender, PCSA, and early delivery stages. These projects may vary significantly in value, ranging from £5M to £40M. You will retain an overall development & monitoring capacity as required for complex projects to ensure construction plans are created, updated, and amended in line with project requirements.
Day-to-day tasks will include:
Document review
Reviewing all tender issue documents to gain a full understanding of the requirements of the project, any logistical or contractual restrictions or stipulations.
Workshops
- Attending tender launch, subcontractor and external consultant workshops as well as internal team workshops to inform the development of the tender programme.
- To attend site visits as required to gain an understanding of any restrictions on site or logistical requirements that may impact programme proposals.
Compliance
- All programme proposals should be vetted with tender issued information, supply chain and client TQ responses for compliance in relation to long lead items and overall durations.
Tender Programme production
- Producing fully integrated programmes in Asta/Powerproject, incorporating all workstreams (i.e. Procurement, Design Development, Mobilisation, Construction, Handover/Soft Landings and Aftercare) factoring all items within the tender issue documents and workshop feedback and details from the supply chain, external consultants, delivery team and client professional team.
- Projects will be both Traditional & D&B form of contract and single stage, 2-stage, hybrid procurement or negotiated work and you should be proficient in producing programme proposals across these project types.
- Along with tender stage programme, you will be required to produce a supporting narrative for our programme proposals, detailing our approach and any key benefits.
Additional workstreams
You will also be required to review client issued PQQ documents to produce PQQ stage programmes, in addition to updating programmes as required following securing a project as it is handed over to the delivery teams/in the pre-construction phase.
Candidate Profile
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrable construction and/or fit-out and refurbishment experience; previous experience may be on site or within an office in an operational or planning role but a clear and demonstratable awareness of the process is essential.
- Have a clear understanding to various procurement routes and the implications of design responsibility.
- Planning and programming skills are required; experience at having prepared programmes for live projects or tenders is essential with Asta programming software experience preferred.
- You must possess good IT skills including ASTA, Word, Outlook and Excel as a minimum
- You will also be a strong team player, whilst showing individuality within this ethos
