Position: Junior Sales Assistant

Reports to: Sales Manager

Job Purpose:

As a Junior Sales Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the sales team by profiling customers, conducting research, and assisting with lead generation. You will gather and analyse data on potential clients to help tailor sales strategies, improve customer engagement, and contribute to business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Profiling:
  • Research and identify key customer demographics, preferences, and purchasing behaviour.
  • Create detailed profiles of potential and existing clients based on available data, including industry, company size, and purchasing history.
  • Maintain and update the customer database with accurate information.
  • Lead Generation:
  • Assist in generating new leads through market research, cold calling, and online tools.
  • Identify high-potential prospects for the sales team to follow up on.
  • Support the sales team by tracking and managing leads throughout the sales pipeline.
  • Market Research:
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Analyse research data and provide insights to the sales team to improve outreach strategies.
  • Data Entry & CRM Management:
  • Input and maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the company’s CRM system.
  • Assist in organising and managing client and sales data for easy retrieval and reporting.
  • Customer Engagement:
  • Support the sales team in preparing for customer meetings, including researching client backgrounds and needs.
  • Communicate with customers via email or phone to gather additional information or follow up on inquiries.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Provide general administrative support to the sales team, including preparing sales materials, scheduling meetings, and processing orders.
  • Assist with any additional tasks as required by the sales team or manager.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of sales processes and customer profiling techniques is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a sales support role or similar is advantageous but not required.
