SEN - Tutor

TeacherActive are currently seeking a strong and dedicated SEN Teacher to teach students that are currently out of education.

We are looking for tutors for students in either primary or secondary, with a range of needs from ASD, MLD to young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

This role would, therefore, suit a teacher or HLTA who is confident in teaching and creating personalised and engaging lessons.

• We are looking for tutors to work on a 1:1 basis with students aged between 5-16 years old.

• Most of these students are disengaged in education and will be out of school, with many of them not on a school roll.

• Many cases are for 3 hours per day, 5 days per week but this can be flexible depending on the student in question. There is also the potential to work more hours by taking on more than one case.

• Sessions will take place at the student's home.

• Students are likely to have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties. They are also likely to be working below age-related expectations.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver sessions with a focus on English and Maths. Contract Details for Part-Time 1:1 Tutor position:

• Full time/part-time - Part-time Monday to Friday - various hours

• Minimum rate of pay - 20 per hour

Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed and flexible to teach students with varying needs, including teaching social and life skills. The candidate would be required to apply positive behaviour management approaches and build strong relationships.
