Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as Lead Design Engineer to deliver and check design solutions and associated outputs
- Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure project success
- Providing technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues
- Involvement in projects from conception to completion
- Supporting the Project Manager in clarifying project briefs, deliverables, and milestones
- Establishing project checking and approval arrangements
- Delivering significant elements of detailed design and checking outputs
- Reviewing projects on completion and recommending enhancements
Job Requirements:
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Significant experience in structures design, including bridges and ancillary civil structures
- Chartered Membership of the ICE or IStructE
- Proficiency with design to Eurocodes and DMRB
- Experience mentoring graduate engineers under ICE or IStructE training schemes
- Experience with structural design and analysis software like Autodesk Structural Bridge Design or LUSAS
- Experience in providing project governance and managing tight timescales
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills adaptable to different audiences
- A full UK driving licence
