Clearpath Recruitment are looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Estimator to start asap for our client in Sidcup.
Please note that the client is looking to move into the Greenwich area in the near future.
As a M&E Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates for a range of M&E projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, and industrial. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure competitive, profitable, and precise tenders.
- Candidate must be mechanically biased but with a good knowledge of Electrical systems.
- Projects ranging from 100k - 2 Million but looking to grow the business and tender for larger projects up to 5 million.
- 40-60k per annum depending on experience.

Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and interpreting drawings, specifications, and project documents to produce accurate estimates.
- Preparing detailed cost breakdowns for mechanical and/or electrical services, including labour, materials, and equipment.
- Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors for the best pricing.
- Preparing tender submissions and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assessing project risks and proposing cost-saving solutions.
- Working closely with the design and project teams to ensure that estimates align with project specifications and requirements.
- Maintaining and updating cost databases to reflect current market trends and prices.
Requirements:
- Intermediate Level: 2+ years' experience in M&E estimating, with a solid understanding of M&E systems.
- Senior Level: 5+ years of experience, with the ability to lead the estimating function on complex projects.
- Background in M&E installations within the construction industry.
- Proficient in estimating software and strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of industry-standard contracts and tender processes.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
