Senior EC&I Engineer

The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer to join a leading Nuclear Plant project, to be based out of Cumbria.

Job Overview:

The Box Encapsulation Plant project is one of the most important construction projects.

The plant is primarily designed to deal with waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up

Some of your duties will include:

Responsible for delivery of EC&I design and engineering for area systems.

• Will be responsible for production of design documentation as well as checking the work of other engineers & designers.
• Responsible for coordinating with construction to respond to TQ’s/PP’s and concessions.
• Responsible for coordinating with construction and commissioning to respond to FOB’s and defect notices.
• Representative for design on plant walk-downs, snagging, and general inspections

What do you need to succeed?

• Hold a minimum HND or equivalent
• Degree Qualified
• Have demonstrable experience in delivering nuclear EC&I design in a similar role/environment, with recent relevant exposure to work in the nuclear industry

A self-starter with good communication, analytical and team working skills.

• Experience of taking a lead role in delivering engineering packages
• Experience in interrogating design in the context of assuring its fitness for purpose with respect to design process, rigour and functionality.
• Experience of working with a client organisation to ensure a collaborative approach to design assurance.
• Ability to chair and control meetings.
