Job Description
The Commercial Director will be responsible for driving the company's UK & Ireland commercial strategy, overseeing sales and marketing operations, and ensuring the achievement of revenue and profitability targets. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in FMCG, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in commercial management. Candidates will have track records in both the QSR and Grocery channel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy Development:
- Develops and implements the commercial strategy to drive business growth and market share.
- Identifies new market opportunities and business expansion areas.
- Monitors market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
- Sales Management:
- Leads and manages the sales team to achieve sales targets and objectives.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and retail partners.
- Oversees the development of sales plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Marketing and Brand Management:
- Collaborates with the marketing team to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns.
- Ensures brand consistency and alignment with the company's vision and values.
- Analyses market research and consumer insights to drive brand strategy and innovation.
- Financial Management:
- Prepares and manages the commercial budget, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
- Monitors financial performance and provides regular reports to the executive team.
- Identifies and mitigates financial risks associated with commercial activities.
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Provides strong leadership and direction to the commercial team.
- Fosters a high-performance culture and promotes continuous learning and development.
- Mentors and coaches team members to enhance their skills and career growth.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represents the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Negotiates and manages contracts with key partners and suppliers.
The Successful Applicant
- You will be a Sales Director or Commercial Director who is leading a national sales team selling into the QSR channel, foodservice, and retail channels.
- Candidates need to come from the food/drink industries; we would be interested in speaking to branded and own label profiles.
- Strong commercial skills, P&L responsible.
- Leadership experience of large teams.
- Prepared for travel; this role is home-based with regular travel weekly to the HQ in London plus national travel with your teams.
