Civils General Foreman

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced General Foreman on behalf of a thriving civil engineering main contractor to work on projects across Severn Trent North region (North / East Midlands).

This specialist heavy civils main contractor are a well-known name in the industry with a strong reputation for quality across all divisions. They are a key delivery partner for Severn Trent Water alongside Environment Agency & others as framework partners. This role falls within their Severn Trent Water workload & they have sight of at least 3 years work in this area.

Initial projects is working around a Waste Water Treatment Works and also will involve upgrading circa. 10km of pipeline in the area. Scope of works: deep excavations up to 6m, large diameter pipework, shafts, deep drainage, ducting, hard standings & general civils. Some involvement with M&E but these tend to be sub-contracted out.

Duties/Responsibilities as General Foreman:

• Assisting Site Agent and Project Manager in daily management
• Daily briefings with staff on site
• HSE toolbox talks
• Monitoring H&S on site, spotting issues and resolving
• Directing direct labour gangs
• Managing sub-contractors
• Briefing RAMS
• Ordering materials
• Assisting Agent with progress reports
• Attending progress meetings
• Plant checks & permits

Experience required as General Foreman:

• Must have experience as General Foreman on heavy civil engineering schemes involving deep drainage, pipework, ducting etc.
• Must have experience dealing with: Severn Trent Water, Yorkshire Water or a similar client ways of working & standards
• Must hold: CSCS, SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid and full driving license.
• Beneficial: Temporary Works, EUSR Water, Appointed Person etc.

Remuneration:

A salary of up to 53,000 (dependant upon experience) plus:

Vehicle or allowance, fuel expenses, 24 days + stat annual leave, annual discretionary bonus, pension scheme and more
