Are you ready to take your payroll expertise to the next level? We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist who’s not just a number-cruncher but a proactive problem-solver with a passion for driving improvements and making an impact. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of our payroll operations, ensuring that our 2400 employees are paid accurately and on time while playing a key role in optimising our payroll systems and processes.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Handle Complex Payroll Challenges: Tackle intricate scenarios involving bonuses, deductions, pensions, and statutory payments, ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation
  • Drive Insights and Improvements: Provide valuable, data-driven insights to senior management, and spearhead initiatives to streamline and enhance our payroll processes
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with HR, Finance, and IT to optimise our payroll systems and ensure seamless integration with other business systems
  • Lead and Innovate: Participate in or lead payroll-related projects, including system upgrades and process reengineering, helping us stay ahead of the curve
  • Mentor and Support: Share your expertise by training and developing team members, and act as the go-to person for resolving payroll queries and issues

  • Proficiency in payroll software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure
  • CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience working in a large, multi-site organisation
  • Previous experience with payroll-related projects, such as system implementations or upgrades
