Depot Assistant

Location: Bedford MK45 5JR

Job Type: Temporary - PAYE

Duration: 6 months with possible extensions

12 per hour - With OT

Our client based in Bedford is seeking a Depot Assistant to join our team on a short-term basis. This is a hands-on role, primarily focused on handling and preparing cabling for various events.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general depot tasks, assisting with day-to-day operations.
• Heavy manual handling of cabling, including lifting and moving items by hand and operating a forklift (FLT).
• Clean and prepare large quantities of returned cabling using jet-washing equipment, ensuring it's ready for future use.
• Conduct visual inspections of cabling (ranging from 3 to 50+ meters), checking for faults and ensuring sockets are in good condition. Report any issues found.

Requirements:

• A valid FLT (Forklift Truck) license is essential.
• Experience in an electrical role or previous work with cabling is highly desirable.
• This is a manual labor role which will include heavy lifting and carrying
