As the Service Engineering Supervisor, you will oversee a team of engineers, ensuring high-quality service delivery, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. This leadership role combines hands-on technical support with strategic planning to drive continuous improvement and team success.
Role Overview: As the Engineering Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in our clients operations, directly supporting the Field Line Manager and driving the success of a skilled engineering team. In this leadership position, you'll oversee the effective delivery of engineering services, ensuring adherence to KPIs and fostering a high-performance culture. This role blends technical acumen with strategic oversight, ideal for a proactive individual eager to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire and lead a team of engineers, creating a culture that promotes motivation, excellence, and collaboration.
- Collaborate with the Field Line Manager to design and implement strategies for continuous improvement, enhancing team productivity and efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and training to team members, supporting their technical growth and fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Support new team members through a thorough induction process, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
- Actively engage in engineering projects, offering hands-on support and troubleshooting complex systems and issues.
- Provide over-the-phone technical guidance to team members, ensuring prompt and effective issue resolution.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and enforce action plans to address safety concerns, ensuring a secure working environment for the entire team.
- Monitor the quality of engineering tasks, ensuring all projects meet customer expectations and business objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between field operations and the office, ensuring clear communication and consistent information flow.
- Gather feedback from field operations to inform management and contribute to the refinement of processes and service improvements.
- Plan and manage work schedules, effectively allocating personnel and resources to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Extensive experience with Gent and Notifier systems.
- At least 8 years of industry experience, including field electrical work and supervisory/management roles.
- Relevant industry qualifications (FIA or equivalent).
- Certification in IOSH or SSSTS (Health and Safety).
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Solid understanding of contract terms and pricing.
