Commis Chef

We are currently recruiting for a Commis Chef for a busy country pub in the Hertfordshire area. Ideal candidate will have gained basic experience of working in a commercial kitchen assisting the head chef in preparing and presenting a wide range of food. This role would suit someone who is looking to develop their experience and skills learning from the Head Chef.

Job specification

• Assist the chef with food preparation and presentation.
• Perform basic tasks including chopping and slicing.
• Follow recipe instructions accurately.
• Always keep the kitchen clean and hygienic.
• Communicate effectively with the head Chef.
• Adhere to kitchen policy.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months experience of working in a commercial kitchen
• Access to a car essential due to rural location
• Experience of food preparation
• Able to multitask effectively.
• Effective communication skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Passion for food and learning new skills.
• Excellent work ethic
• Be able to work under pressure.
• Fundamental understanding of food hygiene procedures
