Our client is a medium-sized niche firm who have been based in the City of London for more than 150 years. Over the past few years, they have grown significantly and now have over 300 employees and partners along with a growing international reach. The firm is ranked in the Legal 500 and chambers and has a phenomenal reputation.

They are currently recruiting a role for a solicitor with 3+ years PQE to join their public procurement and commercial contracts team. The role would have a strong focus on the provision of public procurement advice for contracting authorities, though the successful candidate would also be required to assist with a broad range of general commercial contract work, including goods and services contracts, IT supply and support agreements, and PFI/PPP contract work.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical ability and matter management skills,

will enjoy working both as part of a team and independently and be able to demonstrate a flair

for nurturing relationships along with enthusiasm, drive, and a commercial approach.

What they are looking for:

• Qualified Solicitor with 3+ years PQE in the field of public procurement and commercial contracts in this area of law
• Good understanding of, and experience of advising contracting authorities on, existing UK public procurement legislation.
• Sound understanding of the new Procurement Act 2023 and associated secondary legislation and guidance.
• Experience of advising local authorities (whether in private practice or as part of an inhouse role.)
• Strong drafting and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Self-motivated with an ability to prioritise a demanding workload
• A high attention to detail to produce work/documentation which is consistently of a high standard.
• Strong academic background, ideally gaining a 2:1 or better degree
