Embedded Software Engineer - Up to £50,000

Office:

Rotherham 5 days per week

The client is a world-leading designer and manufacturer of technologies and products for use in residential, commercial and industrial applications in the intruder alarm market.

The client has been around for 35 years and consider themselves a forward-thinking and dynamic organisation who introduce cutting-edge products, integrations and systems into their security alarm portfolio.

Role:

As a Software Engineer you will be tasked with completing the development and maintenance of embedded software as well as the creation and maintenance of software offerings while providing relevant technical documentation under the leadership of the R&D manager.

Requirements (essential):

• Bachelor degree or above, computer or electronic information relevant major preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in embedded software development (building software for a product)

• Good C and C++ programming language experience.

• Familiar with Linux multi-threaded programming.

Desirable:

• Hardware development experience.

• Familiar with Linux debugging tools such as GDB and strace.

• Familiar with Linux driver development and porting.

• Familiar with common network communication protocols such as MQTT, CoAP.

• Familiar with script language such as Python and Javascript.

• Familiar with code editing tools such as VsCode, SourceInsight and Vim.

• Good Chinese communication skills required to collaboration with the Chinese team closely.
