GSL Education are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Technician to join a popular and high-achievingSecondary School in South Manchester to start in September 2024 on a full-time, permanent contract.

will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality music education, assisting both staff and students with technical expertise and ensuring the smooth operation of our music facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to the music department, including setting up and operating audio-visual and recording equipment for lessons, rehearsals, and performances
• Maintain and manage music technology resources, including computers, software (DAWs), audio equipment, and musical instruments
• Assist students and staff with the use of music technology during lessons and extracurricular activities
• Organise and manage the setup for school concerts, productions, and external events
• Perform routine maintenance on instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order
• Keep up to date with new developments in music technology and suggest improvements to existing systems
• Assist with the cataloging, storage, and management of music resources
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed in relation to music equipment and facilities

Requirements:

• A relevant qualification in Music Technology, Audio Engineering, or a related field
• Experience working in a similar technical support role, ideally within an educational setting (desirable but not essential)
• Have a strong technical understanding of music technology and audio-visual equipment
• Have experience in a school setting or similar environment
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
• Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
