Location of the Job:

  • Covering Scotland, ideally based Glasgow/Edinburgh.

About the Company:

A specialist provider of heavy machinery (sales and hire) for the Waste Recycling, Material Processing, and Forestry Industries.


About the Role:

You will be responsible for delivering sales targets and objectives for your sales territory. Sales are defined as new and used equipment sales and equipment hire, and other company service offerings, including parts and maintenance repairs. A fantastic performance-based role, with a base salary and commission structure based on agreed equipment sales performance.


Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain customer base for products and services.
  • Educate customers on products, services, warranties, and technical support.
  • Take ownership of customers from enquiry through to aftersales and engage appropriate stakeholders (internally and externally) to deliver sales.
  • Provide accurate information to customers regarding product specifications, applications, after sales services, price, availability, and terms and conditions.
  • Work with the spares Sales Team to help deliver the annual target, identifying opportunities and promoting spares offerings.
  • Work with Service Team to promote service offerings and ensure that new equipment customers are locked into a service contract.
  • Understand and manage your area based on the plan for the year.
  • Visit existing customers on a regular basis.
  • Actively seek out new customers (including cold calling where appropriate).
  • Establish and update sales forecast trackers for monthly sales meetings and present strategies to achieve.
  • Gain feedback from customers on existing products and services, as well as changes, enhancements, and new offerings the customer would like.
  • Convey information to the team members as appropriate.
  • Identify potential new customers, applications, or markets and convey information to team members as appropriate.
  • Communicate professionally, clearly, and accurately with customers, suppliers, and the team members.
  • Attend trade shows, events, dinners, and functions to represent the company.
  • Ensure that the CRM system is populated by supplying accurate, detailed, and up-to-date information.
  • Meet or exceed the training requirement for self-development during the year.
  • Manage your own time, travel, and expenses in an efficient and cost-conscious manner.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience selling heavy equipment (plant, forestry machinery, or waste recycling equipment into the waste recycling sector).
  • Proven sales success in a similar field-based role.
  • Tenacious, driven, and enthusiastic.
  • Able to manage own diary and workload.
  • Happy to travel in this field-based role.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
