Job Title: Registered Manager

Sector: Residential Children’s Home (EBD)

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent


Role Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Registered Manager to lead a residential children’s home for young people with EBD. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives by ensuring high standards of care and creating a nurturing, supportive environment.


As the Registered Manager, you will take ownership of the home's operations, working with your team to deliver positive outcomes for the children. You'll lead with passion, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations while fostering a culture that puts the children’s welfare at the heart of everything you do.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the children’s home, ensuring exceptional care standards.
  • Lead and inspire a committed team, offering support, supervision, and professional development.
  • Develop and implement personalised care plans and risk assessments to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, external agencies, and professionals.
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding regulations, and relevant legislation.
  • Manage the home’s budget, resources, and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes the rights of children and young people.
  • Continuously evaluate service delivery and introduce improvements as needed.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential care setting (desirable)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or working towards it.
  • Thorough knowledge of Ofsted legislation, regulations, and best practices in childcare.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • A deep commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
