Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive School Facilities Assistant to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the school premises are well-maintained, safe, and secure for all students, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds, including basic repairs, decorating, and ensuring the general tidiness of the site.
- Health and Safety: Support the implementation of health and safety procedures across the school, conducting regular checks and reporting any issues to the Facilities Manager.
- Security: Help to ensure the security of the school premises, including the opening and locking up of the school, monitoring CCTV, and responding to emergencies when required.
- Cleaning: Assist with the general cleaning of the school, ensuring all areas are clean, hygienic, and well-presented at all times.
- Support for School Events: Provide logistical support for school events, including setting up rooms, moving furniture, and ensuring the site is prepared for various activities.
- Inventory Management: Assist in the management and ordering of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other members of the facilities team and school staff to ensure the smooth running of the school s operations.
Person Specification:
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar facilities or maintenance role is desirable but not essential.
- Skills: Strong practical skills, with the ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Attitude: A positive, can-do attitude with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends for school events.
- Qualifications: Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations. Any relevant qualifications or certifications would be an advantage.
