Following a successful series of high-profile contract wins and the development of a strong future pipeline we are expanding our Business Development team and are now inviting applications from talented Business Development and Bid Writing professionals to lead and oversee our bid and tender production team and join our senior team in the role of Head of Bid Production on a permanent, full-time basis.


Overview of the role


This role will oversee the editorial standards, written bid production processes and coaching of staff to ensure market leading bid quality scores. The role will also manage the Groups consultancy budget for consultant bid writers. By working with key stakeholders, the Bid Director and the Group Business Development Director, you will gain a strong understanding of customer requirements, to ensure the internal multi-functional bid team has a clear sense of direction in line with commissioner objectives. We work across multiple markets (e.g. Education, Justice, Skills, Employment) so this role requires an individual who is experienced in overseeing top scoring bids and tenders to multiple central and local government commissioners.


What we are looking for


We are inviting applications from talented Business Development, Bid Writing and Bid Management professionals to lead and oversee our bid and tender production team as Head of Bid Production.


As the Head of Bid Production you will be responsible for the following:


To lead and develop the team with responsibility for managing and delivering the business development bid pipeline aligned to Group business plans.

To lead all aspects of the bid production including resource planning, solution development, bid writing, commercials, legal and other constituent elements.

To work to deliver and achieve strategic growth targets.

Be responsible for ensuring bid submissions meet all requirements specified by the commissioner.

To lead the engagement of internal stakeholders, building positive and productive working relationships that support the smooth running of bid projects to achieve shared goals.

To be responsible for working with senior colleagues to identify the people and resources required for bid success – including supply chain partners.

Lead multi-functional bid teams through the bid process to produce a compelling solution, providing constructive challenge as required.

Be responsible to adhere to internal processes and leading tenders through LTE Group bid governance processes, producing internal governance documentation as required.

Lead core team meetings, extended meetings and attendance at commissioner meetings as required.

Deputise for the Group Director where appropriate, to ensure high quality service for all customers, driving the changes necessary to achieve the objectives of the Strategic Plan.

To ensure all financial probity and compliance is met.


To be successful in your application we are looking for the following qualifications & experience:


Educated to at least degree level or hold an equivalent qualification

A Project Management qualification would be desirable

Proposal Management qualification would be desirable

Proven track record of leading bids/tenders to Central and/or Local Government. Particularly in skills, education, skills, justice and employability markets. Including opportunities of significant scale, complexity and strategic importance.

Experiencing in reviewing/editing bids and coaching bid writers.

Significant experience of tender solution management including solution planning and development, bid writing, process management and governance approval.

Able to use standard MS Office products & MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Teams and Outlook).

Understanding of CRM Systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamix)


The successful candidate will receive the following renumeration package


A salary of up to £65,149.88 depending on your level of experience

35 days Holidays, plus bank holiday
