Meraki Talent’s client is on the lookout for a Cloud Ops Engineer to join their team. They are a niche software house who are continuously growing across the finance sector, investing heavily in modern technology – They offer a hybrid work model with offices in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Joining a small team of Cloud Operations Engineers working alongside the Infrastructure and Support team, you will deploy and maintain the underlying infrastructure to support the SaaS product. They’re looking for someone who has strong experience with ITIL Frameworks and Azure and is keen to make the move into a more Cloud focussed role and get hands-on in operational and development projects. Our client pride themselves on taking an open minded approach, and are happy to consider candidates from perhaps a 2nd/3rd line, Infra or wider data space providing they have a couple of years Azure experience, and a genuine passion to work with cloud tech!

Responsibilities of the Cloud Operations Engineer –

• Deploy and maintain client platforms
• Manage and prioritise your time between operational support to enhance automation for the platforms
• Work reactively and proactively to ensure the SaaS platforms are secure, performant and stable
• Gain strong working relationships with internal colleagues and external providers

Background of the Cloud Operations Engineer –

• At least a couple of experience working with Azure is essential
• System Administration experience – Active Directory, Windows Server
• Experience working within a SaaS environment helpful but not essential
• It would be beneficial but not essential to have exposure to automation tools such as Terraform and Azure DevOps
• Exposure to scripting in languages such as PowerShell or Bash would be helpful but not essential
