Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer for a site-based role in Cumbria within the nuclear sector for our client. This contract role focuses on plant support and plant engineering rather than commissioning-based experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering tasks on-site, supporting nuclear plant operations.
- Develop and oversee mechanical handling systems, ensuring they meet stringent nuclear safety and project requirements.
- Coordinate and execute heavy lifting operations with precision and adherence to nuclear safety standards.
- Create, review, and maintain technical files, ensuring compliance with nuclear industry regulations and standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety cases, ensuring all engineering activities adhere to rigorous nuclear safety protocols.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in mechanical handling within the nuclear or similar high-regulation engineering sectors.
- Extensive background in plant support and plant engineering.
- Strong understanding and experience with technical file creation and management in the nuclear industry.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining safety cases in nuclear engineering projects.
