Chief Technology Officer

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up-to £150,000 + share options


We are excited to partner with a startup in the sustainability space who are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead and shape the technology function across the company.


In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing executive technology leadership, with full autonomy to make critical technical decisions. You will act as a business partner, translating complex technical concepts into business value and ensuring our technology supports rapid growth. You will be hands-on with development when needed and provide strategic leadership to scale the platform, drive innovation, and guide the technical team toward achieving key business objectives.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Defining the technology roadmap and ensuring the engineering team are supported on a daily basis.
  • Build and lead the technology recruitment.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying new opportunities to innovate and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Oversee product development lifecycles from concept to launch, ensuring that products meet customer needs, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Manage the companies technology infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and reliability across all digital platforms.
  • Work closely with other executive leaders to integrate technology solutions that drive growth, improve user experience, and create operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and managing resource allocation for maximum efficiency and impact.
  • Act as a key liaison between the tech team and executive leadership, providing clear and actionable insights on technological advancements and progress.


Requirements:

  • Proven technology leadership experience at CTO / VP of Engineering level in a fast-paced, high-growth company.
  • Background in building and scaling SaaS platforms.
  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing technology teams with a strong focus on collaboration, mentorship, and personal development.
  • Deep understanding of modern software development practices, cloud infrastructure and data management.
  • Ability to balance technical innovation with business priorities, proven success in driving product growth and improving customer success.
  • Proven experience guiding companies through funding stages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technology strategies and initiatives to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data management, analytics, and platform scalability.
