Managing Director

This established and highly successful business supplies a wide range of technically-differentiated product-based solutions to a diverse base of B2B customers. The company, which is highly profitable based on sales of circa £10m, has a particularly strong reputation for product innovation, technical expertise and for delivering excellent service across an international customer base. The business is now seeking a high-calibre Managing Director to lead the company in the next phase of its growth and development.

Reporting to the Chairman and sitting on the company Board, the Managing Director will have full P&L responsibility for the business across sales, marketing, operations, logistics, purchasing, finance, HR and administration.The emphasis of the role will be on working with the leadership team to develop and implement a clear growth strategy, leveraging the company’s core technology in new and existing markets to deliver short, medium and long-term profits and shareholder returns.

The right, high calibre candidate for this role will have strong commercial credentials aligned with a proven track record gained in a similar P&L responsible general management role. A good understanding of business finance is essential and ideal candidates will enjoy working in an entrepreneurial environment, creating a high performing culture with a bias towards innovation and customer excellence. Whilst product/sector experience is not a requirement, candidates are likely to have worked in a B2B product-led business and will be able to operate at a strategic level whilst retaining the ability to get things done.
