Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
A global independent Oil & Gas company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Norwich. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diverse mechanical equipment, including piping, valves, pumps, and engine-driven generator sets.

This is a full-time permanent staff role based in Norwich and will predominantly be office-based with the ability to work-from-home 1 day per week.


Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Engineer

- Provide mechanical engineering support across Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Metering, and Integrity departments.

- Offer expertise during operational shutdowns and outages.

- Analyse and enhance equipment performance to minimise production losses.

- Implement and maintain business maintenance strategies and policies.

- Monitor and optimise maintenance effectiveness, reducing backlogs and unplanned interventions.

- Specify, cost-analyse, and procure replacement equipment promptly to prevent breakdowns and outages.

- Complete necessary documentation and assurance systems.

- Manage costs effectively, fostering a cost-conscious culture among suppliers and contractors.

- Utilise electronic maintenance systems such as Maximo.

- Conduct Site Assurance Surveys at both onshore and offshore locations.

- Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and new recruits.

- Support performance testing, assurance, maintenance, and failure analysis of actuated and non-actuated valves.


Key Requirements: Mechanical Engineer

- Engineering degree or HNC/HND with 8-10 years of experience in the oil and gas offshore industry or other regulated industries.

- Extensive knowledge of oil and gas mechanical equipment.

- Ability to provide timely equipment health and performance guidance to management.

- Team player with strong work ethic, able to solicit co-operation from colleagues.

- Knowledge of equipment specification for hazardous areas.

- Understanding of Management of Change processes.
