I am currently recruiting on behalf of my prestigious client, based in Cheltenham, for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their established team on a full-time, permanent contract.

The successful applicant will ensure all accounts are kept up to date and accurate. You will work closely with other staff members across the company, including management teams, supporting finance-related tasks.

The ideal applicant will have Accounts/Finance, Credit Control and Xero experience.

About the role:

• Ensuring that business accounts are up to date
• Producing accounts reports such as profit and loss, reconciling items, and outstanding invoices/bills
• Work closely with the company accountants to prepare accounts for quarterly VAT returns and End of Year accounts
• Ensuring daily account records are correct and balances are reconciled
• Credit Control
• Dealing with client account queries accordingly
• Ensuring client income information provided to HMRC is accurate and compliant
• Accurately processing outgoing payments to clients and contractors
• Ensuring staff personal details and pay is recorded correctly for salary payments
• Ad-hoc Accounts/Finance tasks

Hours and Pay:

• Monday to Friday
• Salary up to 32,000 - dependent on experience

About you:

• Accounts/Finance Assistance experience is essential
• Credit Control experience
• Xero experience
• VAT Return experience
• Competent daily user of Microsoft Office and Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines and targets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
