Our client, a successful medium sized architecture practice, is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join their team. The ideal candidate will have site experience and a proven ability to manage multiple architectural projects from concept through to completion. Expertise in architectural design, particularly within retrofit projects, will be a significant asset to this friendly and sociable practice based in Hackney.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and deliver architectural projects across various stages, ensuring design integrity, technical accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee site activities, liaise with contractors, and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure project success.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects while collaborating closely with the broader design team.
  • Ensure that all projects meet relevant Building Safety Act (BSA) requirements and health and safety standards.
  • Participate in the design and management of projects involving High-Risk Buildings (HRBs) or schemes over 18m, with a strong understanding of Principal Designer responsibilities.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Must be a registered architect with the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
  • 3-5 years experience working on-site and managing architectural projects.
  • Experience and qualifications in retrofitting projects are highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the Building Safety Act (BSA) and experience working with Principal Designers, particularly on high-risk or tall buildings, is a plus.
  • Strong ability to manage teams, coordinate with contractors, and liaise with clients.
  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with ArchiCAD is an advantage, though training can be provided if necessary.
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
