We are currently seeking a Software Architect to lead the development of Software Architecture for a leading Defence organisation committed to advancing cutting-edge products.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to define and manage software architecture, including structural and temporal components and interfaces.
- Document and manage design drivers e.g. performance, safety, and security.
- Create and document derived and emergent requirements with supporting rationale.
- Ensure the architecture is robust and unaffected by implementation changes.
- Work with architects and engineers to support design and review activities.
- Contribute to long-term strategy, product lines, and tech innovations.
- Engage in product system design using leading technology for reliable, secure products.

- Experienced in making key architectural and design decisions.
- Proficient in modern software architecture techniques and design patterns.
- Strong supporter for practices like continuous integration and good design.
- Skilled in evaluating trade-offs within software architecture.
- Knowledgeable in software abstraction layers and stacks.
- Experienced in selecting tools, frameworks, and technologies.
- Strong programming background across multiple languages.
