Project Surveyor - Hybrid AUV and High Quality Survey - Darlington


We are currently in the search for a Project Surveyor that would like to work on topics contributing to the evolution of the Onshore Survey industry.


You'll be directly reporting to the AUV Manager, responsible for overseeing high-quality survey support to internal stakeholders and external clients and the build-out and development of the in-house survey function.


This is an onshore role with the possibility of short offshore assignments as and when required.


Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing survey support to projects across the whole lifecycle.
  • Reviewing scopes of work for survey and inspection opportunities, preparing method statements, specifications, technical qualifications, drawings, and other required technical input to support commercial tendering.
  • Ensure that all survey-related activities are undertaken in accordance with Internal QHSE procedures.
  • Develop project procedures and quality plans in alignment with internal processes.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures, integration documentation processes and quality plans.


What you bring:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Part Chief, preferred experience using AUV operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, marine science, oceanography, or a related field is preferred. Certifications or specialist training in subsea surveying will be considered.
  • Proficient use of surveying instruments and equipment such as multibeam sonars, subsea positioning systems (USBL, LBL), side-scan sonars, ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) sensors, and subsea navigation software is essential.
  • Accomplished at data processing and analysis and ideally have extensive experience with Eiva NaviSuite packages. As well as managing survey data using GIS software and a comprehensive knowledge of networking and sensor integration.
  • Adept knowledge of subsea systems and infrastructure, including pipelines, cables, platforms, and other subsea structures, is crucial. Familiarity with various subsea survey methodologies and techniques is necessary to plan and execute successful surveys. A working knowledge of AUV mission planning is also desirable
