Secondary School Teaching Assistant

Location: Brentwood, Essex

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Assist small groups of SEN students within the classroom setting
• Implement personalized learning plans and strategies to support student development
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment
• Monitor and record student progress, adapting support as necessary
• Foster a supportive and positive learning atmosphere

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the educational development of students with SEN
• Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
