Warehouse Manager

Salary - £55,000 - £60,000

Based in North London


Our client an established retailer currently going through a period of growth is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager. As they continue to grow and uphold their commitment to excellence, they are looking for a skilled and dedicated Warehouse Manager to lead an operation, which generates £30 million in annual revenue. This position involves managing daily operations and overseeing a large team to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly and efficiently.

As the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse staff, ensuring operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely with the Branch Manager to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive the branch’s success. Strong leadership and a proactive approach are vital to maintaining optimal warehouse performance.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily warehouse operations, ensuring workflows are efficient, safe, and customer-oriented
  • Leading and supervising a team of over 35 employees, providing hands-on support and leadership
  • Working with Stock and Health & Safety teams to ensure seamless operations, accurate stock management, and adherence to safety protocols
  • Organizing and optimizing warehouse space to streamline processes and improve the customer experience
  • Assisting the Branch Manager in achieving performance targets and operational objectives
  • Monitoring and managing staff performance, including conducting training and appraisals
  • Cultivating a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and productivity


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in warehouse or retail management, ideally in the trade or construction materials industry
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of 20+ people
  • Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate staff
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A track record of successfully bringing structure and efficiency to growing teams and operations


Additional Information: Flexibility is required for this role, including working weekends and bank holidays on a rota, to ensure full operational coverage during peak trading periods.
