PHP Software Engineer
Location: Newcastle – 3 days working onsite, 2 days WFH
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience plus excellent company benefits

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated PHP Software Engineer to join their innovative team. The primary role of the PHP Software Engineer is to create and implement client-side solutions on top of the Ecommerce Products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Using PHP to produce user-friendly HTML web solutions.
- Collaboration with other members of the team to improve usability on existing and new projects.
- Working with the front-end developers with coding and investigation of issues.
- Working with colleagues in other teams with integration into ERP systems
- Ensuring high-quality and efficient/optimised source code to maximise response times, and a slick user experience.
- Maintain existing projects.
- Liaising with clients where necessary.
Required Experience & Knowledge:
- PHP
- JQuery
- HTML
- Less/CSS/Flexbox
- Apache
- MySQL/MariaDB
- Linux (maintaining local website distributions)
- Git
- Proven work experience in a Web Developer role
- Experience in browser testing and debugging (e.g. Chrome Console)
- Knowledge of SEO and its implementation
- Knowledge of eCommerce
- Experience of mentoring and supervising developers
- Writing technical specifications
- The ability to communicate ideas clearly, both verbally and via documentation.
- The ability to work alone and collaborate remotely.
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- The ability to learn new/existing technologies.
- Have experience of working in Linux environment and servers.
