About the Role:
A thriving primary school in Bartley Green is looking for a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a background in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team, supporting children to reach their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEND in the classroom.
- Assist the class teacher with implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of SEND pupils.
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported.
- Track and report on the progress of SEND students, working closely with teachers, parents, and specialists.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging confidence and independence.
- Promote positive behaviour and assist with any personal care needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or SEND-specific qualifications).
- Proven experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A nurturing, patient, and positive approach to supporting children.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a primary school environment.
- Additional SEND training (e.g., Autism, ADHD, speech and language support).
