Who we are looking for

A Systems Administrator, who will work within the Project and Programme Delivery department to configure, maintain and support systems on behalf of the team and the wider Business.


In this busy and fast paced role, you will play a key part in providing system administration and technical support to the wider department. Utilising your well-developed systems experience, you will contribute to the overall continuous improvement of the department.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in Jira System Administration, including both Cloud and Data Centre.
  • Knowledge of Confluence and SharePoint administration and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, including pivot charts, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Exposure to system administration, maintenance experience and release planning.
  • Up to date RedHat and Ubuntu Linux administration experience.
  • Experience in SQL Server Reporting Services report development.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI report development and sourcing data from a variety of data sources.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team, whilst also being capable of operating with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of web technology and development environments for example Visual Studio, SharePoint Designer, SQL Server 2019, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, and HTML.
  • Possess strong organisational and analytical skills, with a can-do attitude, whilst not being afraid of a challenge.


Main Responsibilities

  • Configuring, maintaining and providing technical support for the Jira and Confluence applications operated by the Business.
  • Designing, developing and supporting Jira project configurations to facilitate the changing needs of Business processes.
  • Supporting the regular maintenance duties including operating system and application patching to Project and Programme Delivery departmental environments, against agreed maintenance schedules.
  • Developing and managing permission models, ensuring that access to applications is controlled appropriately.
  • Providing internal support for Business users, responding quickly to questions and issues should they occur.
  • Developing and delivering real time reporting using both PowerBI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), to management and to end users, utilising multiple data sources.
  • Producing repeatable and adhoc management information associated with the delivery portfolios and lifecycles, both project and software, including key performance indicators information.
  • Performing end-to-end system testing as a part of changes or upgrades to systems and applications.
  • Providing technical consultations as needed and liaising with other teams within the Technology domain.
  • Supporting the Senior Project Systems Administrator in implementing process improvements, assisting in designing platform upgrades and changes to systems as well as functional testing.
