Property Facultative Reinsurance Broker

We are hiring!

Aon is currently recruiting a Broker to join our team in London.

This role will work with our London-based EMEA Facultative Property team, supporting Account Executives (AEs) and senior members of the team to execute reinsurance transactions and proactively manage client and market-specific placements and projects throughout the lifecycle of engagement. You will be responsible for broking and placing risks into the Lloyd's and Company markets, including the placement of wholesale risks from across the EMEA region.

What the day will look like

Working with colleagues and clients on a variety of Property facultative reinsurance business, you will:

  1. Negotiate terms and conditions of placement with the market.
  2. Ensure timely slip production, reviewing material before taking it to market.
  3. Manage client expectations by communicating market dynamics and anticipated outcomes to clients in advance of placement milestones.
  4. Sourcing and actively developing new revenue opportunities in conjunction with AEs and client teams.
  5. Provide support in developing and delivering market presentations and broking strategies.
  6. Identify appropriate channels for risk placement based on clients' market security guidelines and other requirements, exerting influence on the market to secure the best deals.
  7. Provide advice to clients and colleagues on placement design, available coverage and capacity, likely pricing, potential coverage enhancements, and market progress.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  1. Reinsurance broking or underwriting experience, including project and account management experience.
  2. Experience gained within the London Market.
  3. Language skills: English (high level) and German preferred.
  4. Developed negotiation skills.
  5. Good communication skills and comfortable managing relationships internally and externally.
  6. Considers the underwriter's perspective to adapt approach.
  7. Invests time and resources in Research & Development to find new products/solutions to meet clients' needs.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
