Job Title: PHP Developer

Location: Newton Aycliffe (Hybrid working)

Salary: up to £45,000

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable web applications and a passion for coding. You will work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers to create high-quality, robust web solutions that meet clients' needs.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and related technologies.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Follow industry best practices.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to apply them to operations and activities.


Requirements:


  • Proven software development experience in PHP.
  • In-depth knowledge of PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
  • Experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.
  • Experience with version control tools, such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.


Desirable:


  • Experience with RESTful API design and development.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
