Facilities Assistant

4basebio is an innovative gene synthesis company with the ambition to provide high quality, synthetic DNA for use in gene therapy and gene editing platforms. We are currently looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant based at our head office in Over, just North of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.

The role will help support our facilities team who look after our premises spread across three sites, with a mix of labs, offices and warehousing. Some driving between sites will be a necessary part of the role, therefore you must hold a full clean driver’s licence. Sites are based in Over and Swavesey, Cambs.

We are looking for someone willing to work till 6.00pm, start time negotiable. Full time or part time hours considered. Please state your ideal hours in your application.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with weekly fire alarm call point testing and emergency lights testing
• Run weekly checks on the generators to ensure they are maintained correctly
• Assist with water temperature checks and low usage outlet flushing in line with regulations
• Drive company vehicles between sites and within local vicinity
• Assist in the warehouse/reception with answering door, receiving deliveries and generally keeping tidy
• Keep refreshments/office consumables stock levels topped-up
• Assist with any basic maintenance repairs within job holders capabilities

Person Specification:

• Ability to take and maintain accurate logs/basic records (either paper or on excel) essential
• Willingness to learn and take instruction, training will be provided wherever necessary
• Team player with a can do attitude
• Ability to carry out basic maintenance and repairs desirable
• Must hold a full clean driver’s licence
• Must hold the right to work in the UK and live within reasonable commuting distance
