A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Duty Manager to join the Operations & Events team on a 6-month fixed-term contract to cover an expected work increase during this period. The role will involve overseeing the floor management of Outernet spaces, instructing and overseeing the safe and timely opening and closing of the area, completion of pre-opening and post-closing checklists, health and safety oversight, and incident and fault reporting. Additionally, the role will require the smooth running of brand activations, experiential events, private hires, and district takeovers, ensuring a high-quality service to clients. 

 

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and be responsible for the safe and timely opening and closing of Outernet spaces. 
  • Work closely with contractors across the District to quote and book specific services (security, cleaning, bespoke as needed) and ensure timely, efficient, and perfect service.
  • Assist in managing event activation processes in close collaboration with the Event and Operations Manager, Partner Engagement & Delivery Team, and other internal teams.
  • VIP management, including Invites, ticketing & guest-list oversight. 
  • Facilitate client event activations on the ground where needed and assist with managing internal events.
  • Daily reporting includes events, incidents, near misses, refusals, and ejections. 
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and practices and other relevant legal and statutory frameworks. 

 

What we are looking for:

  • Experience or desire to work in events and or across venues. 
  • You must be calm under pressure, have composure, and have a flexible can-do approach.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements concerning health and safety.
  • Ability to understand and commit to legal requirements/paperwork such as risk assessments/method statements. 
  • To have or be willing to apply for a Personal License is highly desirable. 
  • Able to show management, leadership and an ability to problem solve.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, building a solid relationship with the wider team.
  • An understanding of and a demonstrable commitment to promoting Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusion principles.

Package:

Salary: Competitive– based on 133 hours over a 4-week period. 

6-month FTC

32 days, including Bank Holidays, pro-rata. 

This rotating shift-based position will require some working unsociable hours, weekends, and bank holidays but with a work-life balance in mind.
