Job Overview

As a Technical Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our highly automated production systems. Working on a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern, you will be responsible for optimizing production processes, troubleshooting equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

This role is ideal for a proactive and skilled engineer with experience in automation, PLCs, and maintenance who is looking to develop their technical expertise and grow their career in a progressive environment. With comprehensive in-house training to support your professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Analyze and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase productivity.
  • Automation Support: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot automation systems, including PLC-controlled machinery, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on high-tech machinery, particularly on cutting-edge systems.
  • Fault Finding: Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues within automated production lines to minimize production delays.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles.
  • Project Involvement: Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and technology upgrades.
  • Compliance: Ensure all machinery and processes comply with health and safety standards, minimizing risks to personnel and equipment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in a technical engineering role within FMCG, manufacturing, or a related industry, with hands-on experience in automation and PLC systems.
  • PLC Knowledge: Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
  • Maintenance Experience: Solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical maintenance, ideally within an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and a passion for driving improvements in production processes.
  • Education: Degree, HND, or relevant qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation) or equivalent practical experience.
