Family Legal Assistant

Are you a driven legal professional looking for an opportunity to support a leading Family Law team? DJF Solicitors, a prominent firm with several offices across the UK including London, Birmingham, Tamworth, Derbyshire, and Bristol, is seeking a Family Legal Assistant specializing in Legal Aid Care work. Join us at either our Tamworth or Birmingham office and play a key role in providing high-quality support to our fee earners.

Key Responsibilities:

Diary & Case Management:

• Manage fee earner’s diary with key court dates, filing deadlines, and hearings.
• Ensure timely booking of Counsel and preparation of Briefs as required.

File Management:

• Conduct conflict checks and open files on LEAP.
• Complete file opening checklists and input essential client details.
• Assist with client ID verification, preparation of Legal Aid documents, and setup of Client Care Letters.

Legal Aid Administration:

• Apply for Legal Aid funding, monitor CCMS notifications, and process invoices for payment.
• Manage client Legal Help forms and track time recordings and travel expenses.

General Administrative Support:

• Handle client calls, record time for emails, dictation, and assist with document management.
• Maintain accurate records on LEAP and liaise with Counsel as needed.
