Job Title: Health & Safety Compliance Lead (MEP Focus)
Location: Rochester, Kent
Job Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs specific to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) activities.
- Ensure all MEP operations comply with health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Create, maintain, and review health & safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and Construction Phase Plans (CPP).
- Monitor health & safety on all project sites, including conducting bi-weekly H&S audits during major site visits.
- Address any issues raised during H&S audits, escalating serious concerns to the Senior Project Management Team, initially via phone and followed by email.
- Identify potential hazards on-site and implement corrective actions.
- Document inspection findings and ensure corrective measures are completed.
- Provide safety training and implement safety programs, including new employee orientations and regular toolbox talks.
- Ensure all staff are fully aware of and adhere to Primech s safety practices and procedures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and documentation.
- Prepare and maintain detailed incident reports and documentation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all health and safety matters.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety into all phases of project delivery.
Skills Required
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, from site personnel to senior management.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly in MEP environments.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.
- IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification (proof of certification required).
- Experience in a similar health and safety role.
- Professional communication skills, including client interaction.
- Full UK driver s license required.
