Production Assistant

Our client has over 70 years of experience in the manufacture of mechanical and electromechanical transmission products, and thety are ciurrently looking for a new production asssistant to help on their shop flloor.

Their product range consists of: Gearboxes, Couplings, Worm Gears, ScrewJacks, Industrial Gears, Complete Transmission Solutions

The ideal candidate will be hard working, with a high energy can do attitude, who are not afraid of getting their hands dirty.

Job Purpose

• To assist assembly areas to increase productivity
• Fully kit works orders and deliver to skilled fitters in a safe manner
• Fill and drain finished gearboxes before and after testing the units
• Manage areas used for holding kits keeping tidy and organised
• Cover for any shop floor function as and when required as below
• Carry out any reasonable action request by Management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pick kits for New Build, Pumps and Service
• Kit New build, Pumps and Service kits prior to fitters assembling
• Safe storage of kits
• Ensure the kits are accompanied with paperwork at all time
• Sub-assembly of gear lines prior to build
• Manage and control areas designated to store kitted works orders
• Spin test finished gearboxes
• Fill gearboxes with oil before testing
• Spin test gearboxes
• Drain units of oil
• Move to painting queue
• Receive, dispatch, Paint, and warehouse
• Cover for goods inwards when required
• Cover for dispatch when required
• Store goods when asked
• Cover paint booth when required
• General duties
• Ensure all areas are kept clean, tidy and units not to be stored in gangways
• Assist fitters when requested
• Carry out any reasonable action as requested by Management

Training will be provided to ensure that the production support staff are competent and work in a safe manner to cover in any other area of the business as described above.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £24,000.00 per year
