Direct Response Employment Services are working with our long established client in Trowbridge in the recruitment of a Quality Controller to join the team on a permanent basis.
As a quality controller you will play a crucial role in the supply of products to customers, ensuring quality is maintained and improved if required. A role combining visual inspection of goods as well as accurately recording of inspection and supplier colour approvals.
The department works closely with Customer Service to ensure queries and dealt with
quickly and efficiently,
Here's what your tasks will look like
- Inspecting products on delivery to the warehouses, to ensure quality standards are being met by the factories
- Writing inspection reports to communicate any issues found during AQL inspections and giving guidance on garment quality improvements.
- Discussing further issues/quarantined stock with the wider business, and outlining further steps needed.
- Visual inspections and colour management of supplier fabric submissions; ensuring colour consistency is maintained across the ranges.
- Be a point of contact for customer issues/feedback; liaising with relevant departments and ensuring progress on issues are monitored.
- Receive customer returns requiring QC attention. Perform investigations and liaise feedback, to relevant departments, in a timely manner.
- Accurate stock movement via warehouse stock system in relation to AQL garment inspections.
- Complete KPI tracking for Quality Control functions, ensuring that all relevant reports are produced and distributed on specified time.
- Support Design/Buying team with product development tasks.
- QC mailbox management and ad hoc tasks.

- Effective at time management.
- Ability to maintain accurate reporting and analytics.
- Strength in communicating, and collaborating with colleagues; both in the immediate team and internal departments.
- Strong attention for detail and methodical.
- Be able to problem solver individually and collaboratively.
- Working in a small team, therefore you will be flexible and be able to turn your hand to any task.
- QC experience is desired but not essential.
Must haves
- Be IT Literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Be a fast learner, unfazed by learning new processes and systems.
- Knowledge of garment construction and pattern understanding would be beneficial.
Working hours are Monday to Friday with flexibility on start and finish times and a salary of 24k per annum.
