Job Summary

This role is located within the group tax team of Comcast Corporate in London, supporting both the Comcast international and NBCUniversal international business lines. Responsible for tax planning, research and compliance for the corporation in an effort to minimize the tax burden of the Company. Develops appropriate tax planning initiatives and recommendations to place the Company in the most effective tax posture.

Key Position Responsibilities

  1. Support and advise the NBCU / Comcast businesses on all international (non-US) income tax issues.
  2. Work with and advise the UK and US corporate, compliance & reporting, indirect tax and transfer pricing tax team members on tax and commercial issues and initiatives arising in or related to the NBCU / Comcast businesses outside of the US.
  3. Lead tax due diligence and planning efforts related to regional business acquisitions and dispositions. Participate in decisions on structuring acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures.
  4. Assist in the procurement, implementation and management of tax incentives granted to regional businesses by tax authorities.
  5. Assist with dividend and repatriation planning.
  6. Supervise regional tax controversies, including coordination of tax audits, negotiation of tax issues, filing of appeals, and directing litigation as required.
  7. Routine meetings with the finance, legal and business development teams to ensure responsiveness to the company's commercial initiatives.
  8. Monitor changes in tax legislation, rulings, and regulations. Communicate impact of tax law/accounting changes on business operations and lead efforts to ensure compliance.
  9. Oversee external service providers and internal specialists, to ensure adherence to transfer pricing policies and agreements.
  10. Assist with Withholding Tax issues, including dispute resolution in respect of customer WHT deductions and reviewing WHT clauses in contracts.
  11. Assist in development of electronic tools to maximize efficiencies in tax processes.
  12. Supporting the wider tax team as appropriate in areas commensurate with experience.

Required Skills/Knowledge and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have 8-10 years of combined tax experience at a global company, Big Four accounting firm or law firm. Specific qualifications include:

  1. Extensive knowledge and experience in international income tax planning & advising, tax accounting, and compliance.
  2. Experience in the pricing and documentation of related party transactions; particularly services and intangible property transactions.
  3. Experience working with local tax authorities.
  4. Awareness of International tax issues, especially in the context of global licensing.
  5. Strategic and independent thinker with the ability to identify critical tax issues, evaluate their potential impact on the company's business and employees and take appropriate actions within the context of the organization to resolve them.
  6. Proactive, well-organized and results-oriented, with the ability to multi-task.
  7. Team player mentality.
  8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to successfully work with business leaders and other non-tax colleagues.
