About Our Client

We are working on behalf of a leading consultancy within the Engineering and Environmental sectors, committed to delivering excellence in project management and technical support. Our client is seeking a dedicated Technical Assistant to join their team.

Job Purpose

The Technical Assistant will provide vital technical advice and support to the Engineering and Environmental managers and their teams. This role involves coordinating team meetings, guiding the use of MS Teams, SharePoint, and eB, and ensuring the efficient functioning of the Technical Service/Construction Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for senior managers and stakeholders regarding technical, contractual, and administrative services.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and Departure responses, ensuring timely production through collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Assess and draft responses seeking necessary approvals.
  • Assist with communications by drafting responses and coordinating input from SMEs.
  • Organise and manage departmental meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and action management.
  • Prepare briefing packs, presentations, and other documentation for senior management and departmental teams.
  • Develop and maintain reporting systems, records, databases, and information systems in MS Teams and SharePoint.
  • Coordinate and manage eB RFIs, ensuring compliance with contractual timelines.
  • Provide administrative leadership, liaising with Document Control teams to resolve information-sharing issues.
  • Continuously support the team and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Aptitude for understanding systems (eB, CEMAR, SharePoint, PowerBI) and developing solutions for increased efficiency.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook) and Excel, including charts.
  • Understanding of organisational structures and dynamics.

Experience

  • Database experience, ideally with Assetwise/eB.
  • Engineering-related qualification (post A level) or A levels with a suitable aptitude for engineering issues.
