The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society is one of the UK's most important music organisations, reaching over 500,000 people each year through live performance and participative opportunities, plus millions more online. Its work encompasses the world-renowned Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (the UK's oldest orchestra) and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir, a diverse programme of over 400 concerts and events annually in Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and The Music Room, the Youth Company and an extensive music learning and outreach offer.
We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Chief Executive to lead the organisation into the next phase of its development. They will be responsible for devising and implementing ambitious artistic and business strategies across Liverpool Philharmonic's varied activities and leading the Executive Team and overall company of 300 staff and musicians in their successful delivery. They will represent the organisation locally, nationally and internationally, positioning the organisation prominently, and building and maintaining relationships with funders, partners, clients, artists and others.
The successful candidate will bring substantial senior leadership experience in a complex organisation, and the ability to inspire and lead the team to achieve far-reaching outcomes. Continually driving the organisation onwards in terms of artistic excellence, breadth and diversity, and future sustainability and growth, the new Chief Executive will maintain and grow Liverpool Philharmonic's transformative impact on audience and participants, the community and city, and the wider music sector in the UK and globally.
