We are looking for a Head of Pricing - Liability (m/f/d), based in London or Munich.

Your Team

The Global Pricing team is part of the Chief Technical Office Function. Its focus is on transforming pricing infrastructure across Allianz Commercial globally, driving innovation, and improving pricing capabilities.

Our international team operates across key cities including London, Munich, Bucharest, Singapore, Chicago, and New York, offering a unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from diverse regions. The team plays a crucial role in shaping global pricing strategies, ensuring consistent, data-driven approaches to enhance profitability and competitiveness across markets.

The Impact You Will Have

As Head of Pricing, you will significantly influence the profitability of the Liability business lines by implementing strategic pricing initiatives. Your expertise in assessing segment-level profitability will enhance underwriting strategies and portfolio management for both mid and large corporate segments. By leveraging predictive modeling and machine learning, you will drive data-driven underwriting actions, ensuring that pricing reflects market dynamics and risk profiles. Collaborating closely with the Chief Pricing Officer and cross-functional teams, you will foster a culture of innovation and analytical rigor, ultimately contributing to sustainable profitability and competitive advantage within the organization.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Conduct detailed profitability reviews of accounts and business segments to identify issues and propose actions.
• Ensure profitability analysis results are integrated into technical pricing models.
• Monitor the effectiveness of pricing strategies and steering activities.
• Develop and refine pricing tools using statistical methods to enhance accuracy.
• Build strong relationships with Underwriting and senior management for ongoing support of pricing initiatives.
• Establish clear processes for modeling and analysis to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate global projects that involve multiple teams to align pricing strategies.
• Stay informed about global market trends and ensure loss trends are factored into underwriting decisions.
• Lead or participate in projects that promote technical pricing within the organization.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Qualification in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field; a qualified P&C Actuary is preferred.
• Many years as a qualified P&C Actuary, with significant post-qualification experience in international portfolios, especially in high-volatility segments.
• Proven ability to lead change in various business scenarios, including restructuring and integration, with experience managing global teams.
• Liability Pricing Expertise and a deep understanding of the product portfolio.
• Strong grasp of financial concepts (e.g., P&L, balance sheets) and actuarial principles (e.g., reserving, pricing techniques, regulatory rules).
• You can develop data tools and models to support business needs (e.g., rate development, risk capital).
• Experience developing teams across multiple locations.
• Navigate complex situations and provide effective solutions.
• You are Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
