Lead Cloud Engineer (Azure) - London OR Bristol (on site when needed) - £80k - £90k + great package

Hawksworth are now recruiting for a Lead Cloud Engineer (Azure) for a Life & Pensions client (Financial Services). This is a great opportunity, as a member of the Cloud Platform team, you will be involved in every stage of product lifecycle of the platform from conception, design, implementation, testing and through to operational support – applying a security focus at all points. You will also be looking at security across all products in their cloud estate.

• Salary: £80k - £90k base salary / Up to 21% pension, 10-15% bonus, 30 days holiday + bank holidays plus much more.
• Location: London OR Bristol– going onsite when needed

The Job:

Part of the responsibilities of the Lead cloud Engineer (Azure) is to Design, implement, and maintain cloud security on Azure using Bicep and CI/CD Pipelines. Develop automation scripts for upkeep, detection, and remediation of cloud security. As a lead engineer you will be expected to be knowledgeable and able to give guidance to the more junior engineers and wider team.

Required experience & skills:

• Very good Azure background
• Financial Services OR Bluechip client experience
• Experience in cloud security engineering including network security.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline security techniques and tools such AST, SCA, and SLSA. Experience implementing and working with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions (or similar) – and the code scanning tools that can be used i.e., Veracode, CodeQL, PrismaCloud.
• Experience with Bicep or other IaC deployments, with experience providing IaC as a service to developer teams.
• Strong understanding of Azure Defender for Cloud and Sentinel.
• Understands Azure Policy and Policy-as-Code.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and how to secure them.
• Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
• Mentoring experience
