Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
Location: Ashby-De-La-Zouch
Salary: Competitive
Hours of Work: Full-time (Monday-Friday)
Overview:
Hardman Grey Recruitment are currently seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Manager on behalf of our client. The EHS Manager will provide guidance and leadership for projects to ensure they comply with health and safety legislation.
The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for:
Making sure all health and safety procedures are followed and documented
The implementation, and updating of, policies and procedures
Communicating health and safety objectives throughout the business and implement training where needed
Monitoring environmental impact using and designing environmental management systems
Updating management on new EHS legislation
Managing and improving on the onsite ISO14001 and ISO45001
Supporting in meetings and site or environmental initiatives as well as employee well being initiatives
Closing any potential gaps in procedural compliance by working with the production and warehouse teams and providing training where needed
Implementing a risk assessment programme for any operational activities
Recording any near misses or accidents, leading investigations and establishing root causes
Developing any emergency continuity plans
Summarising and reporting any initiatives, updates on potential issues, KPI s and exposures or opportunities to the senior management
Making sure site risk assessments are applied to sites and followed
Leading meetings on health and safety, electing representatives and corporate initiatives
Liaising with regulatory authorities including HSE, BSI, fire services etc on any environmental or health and safety issues
The ideal Environmental, Health and Safety Manager candidate will have:
A NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
Experience with industrial chemicals manufacturing
Experience and understanding of COSHH as well as handling of chemicals
Experience with environmental/ risk management and assessments
Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
Previous training in accidents and incidents investigations
The ability to write comprehensive safe working procedures
Very strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
The ability to work independently to solve problems in a timely manner whilst keeping organised
A high level of technical proficiency
The ability to lead on projects
