Technical Product Owner (retail) - Contract 3-6 month initial Inside IR35


GlobalLogic have a new contract role, working INSIDE IR35, for a Technical Product Owner. This role will be working Hybrid with 2-3 days per week on site in the North West


The project is a digital re-platform initiative for a retail client and we are looking for someone with previous Retail experience and ideally Order Management System (OMS) Product experience too


The bespoke OMS integration backend platform currently comprises of a series of distinct microservice applications, integrations and underlying infrastructure that is currently being built running in AWS


Key Responsibilities:


  • To be the key decision maker owning the technical and functional solutions for the business’s OMS requirements including our SaaS platforms and any related in-house custom integrations and applications
  • To lead the creation of technical & functional designs for any proposed change.
  • To collaborate with the wider business and technology teams to plan, prioritise and support both the incumbent and re-platform OMS engineering teams’ roadmaps and backlogs, following an iterative delivery approach, that delivers value at pace and learnings across the software development lifecycle.
  • To assess and manage risks for timely delivery of all technology solutions, changes and live incident
  • Owning the release process and artefacts (in collaboration with dependent technology, support and change management teams) for the OMS product domain
  • To support the team and wider organisation and our partners during our Digital Transformation and re-platform journey ensuring agile and product management principles and practises are embedded and our ways of working are continuously assessed and improved
  • To track and report on team performance, KPI’s, etc
  • To ensure appropriate written documentation is curated and organised in line with our documentation strategy, that you will be expected to uphold and contribute to
  • To understand external customer and internal stakeholder needs through feedback and analysis, using a data centric approach for decision making, to gain an in depth understanding of the overall system and related integrations from a functional perspective.

  • Retail & eCommerce
  • Order Management / Fulfilment
  • Strong technical skills
  • AWS or other cloud computing provider
  • Agile methodologies including Scrum and Product Management
  • Onshore & offshore, in and outsourced team management
  • Ability to manage projects and initiatives in parallel
